CERTIFICATION
The Avnu Alliance Milan Certification ensures products comply with Milan protocol standards for time-sensitive networking (TSN), enhancing reliability and interoperability.
CERTIFICATION flows
Depending on the implementation method,
three Certification Flows apply:
Registration Flow:
Verification Flow:
When you implement a Component Module, certification testing can be done by the manufacturer of the Component Module. This is typically much faster and lower cost than a full certification. Your Component Module supplier can handle the Verification Flow with Avnu for you and use their AETS (Avnu Express Test Suite) to do the verification of the product.
Full Certification Flow:
In all other cases, full certification is needed. Full certification is done by independent test facilities.
These steps are taken:
- 1 . Become an Avnu Alliance Milan Associate member, and pay the applicable annual membership fee.
- 2 . It is recommended to purchase Avnu’s Express Test Tool to help in the development of your product prior to going to the test lab. Milan Certification offers the Quick Cert Path that means all tests are run inhouse and the Test Lab just reruns a sample collection to validate, that usually taking only 1-2 working days.
- 3. Ask the Recognized Test Facility (RTF) for your offer for Milan Quick Certification.
- 4. Register your product for Certification Application with Avnu Alliance using the Certification Management System (you also have to mention the Recognized Test Facility (RTF) you have selected.).
- 5. Upon approval of the above and confirmation of member’s status, Avnu’s Technical Programs Manager will inform you and the Recognized Test Facility (RTF) of your choice of the product assigned TestID (TID), test versions, CRSL version, and other information. Remit payment of Avnu Product Registration fee to Avnu Admin.
- 6. RTF executes required conformance test cases ensuring tests are executed correctly. After testing is complete, RTF issues preliminary test report(s) for review by the Applicant.
- 7. If the device fails, don’t panic, we will help you. You are notified of the failure and reason. The Applicant will work with the RTF and Avnu Technical Programs Manager as outlined in the Certification Process Flow to fix the product and retest, or have the failure waived.
If the device passes, the RTF generates a Certification report for review by you and Avnu Technical Programs Manager. When the Avnu Technical Programs Manager approves of the passing Certification report, certification of conformance is granted to the Product and the CertificationID (CID) is issued.
