Ed Sheeran Tour - Meyer Sound
More than 80,000 Irish fans burst into cheers of jubilation when the first pummeling chords of “Tides” opened each of Ed Sheeran’s two shows in late April 2022 at Dublin’s Croke Park Stadium.
Milan Protocol Enhances Sound at Ed Sheeran's Dublin Shows
The Dublin shows featured the first use of a Milan protocol AVB network with Meyer Sound’s PANTHER system. This network enabled seamless communication between audio sources and amplification, enhancing audio performance and reliability. The integration of Milan contributed to exceptional sound clarity, even for fans far from the stage. This successful implementation set a new standard for future events and tours.
Global Premiere of PANTHER
Sheeran’s fourth world tour also marked the global premiere of Meyer Sound’s new PANTHER large-format linear array system. Supplied by U.K.–based Major Tom, it was deployed in a concert rig that was anchored by 212 PANTHER loudspeakers.
Collaboration and Design
From design conceptualization through execution, the team worked closely with the artist’s production manager to determine how to deploy a Milan Protocol AVB network from FOH mix to the loudspeakers.
